Anthrax Symposium
The Catastrophic Incident Recovery: Long-Term Recovery from an Anthrax Event Symposium was a day-long symposium aimed at enhancing regional response and restoration capabilities in a catastrophic event by understanding the associated challenges that impact entire communities, including people, infrastructure and critical systems.

The resultant Workshop Report captures current information about anthrax and lessons learned from the capital Hill anthrax event; summarizes key points made during the panel discussions which explored the economic, public health and medical services and decision-making implications of an anthrax event; and concludes with a questions and answers section.

Aquatic Modeling Workshop Series
These three workshops were conducted to identify the modeling needs of decision makers in emergency events, to understand the gaps in technology and information flow, and to clarify the steps required to fill the gaps and meet the research needs. Participants included the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and the Department of Homeland Security Office of Science and Technology.
Disease Surveillance Workshop
Together with the King County/Seattle Public Health Pan Flu Business Leadership, the Northwest Regional Technology Center conducted a workshop with local, state and federal public health officials working in surveillance, epidemiological modeling, and IT communities from the Seattle/ Tacoma area and state of Washington to discuss the current state of disease surveillance and gaps and needs to improve the current systems.
